NEW MOBILE HOMEPAGE DESIGN
Voyage Federal Credit Union
Voyage Credit Union needed a mobile optimized homepage that maintained consistency with its desktop design while improving usability and accessibility. The goal was to create a seamless experience across all devices, ensuring functional consistency and readability.
PROJECT DETAILS
My Role
As the UI/UX designer, I translated desktop wireframes and their style guides into a fully realized mobile design. My responsibilities included refining typography, ensuring responsive consistency, and enhancing interactive elements for a user-friendly experience.
The Problem
The existing website did not have a dedicated mobile view, making it difficult for users to navigate on smaller screens. I was hired to design a mobile homepage that maintained consistency with the desktop version while optimizing typography, button styles, and interactive elements for a seamless and accessible experience.
The Solution
To address these issues, I implemented the following:
Consistency Across Breakpoints – Standardized fonts, sizes, buttons, and graphic elements to match the desktop experience.
Functional Consistency – Ensured similar UX patterns across the site, such as maintaining uniform slider behavior for predictability.
Improved Readability – Increased text sizes and weights, keeping characters per line within 30-40 for better content readability, particularly aiding users with accessibility needs.
Touch-Friendly Design – Followed Apple’s iOS Human Interface Guidelines, ensuring tap targets were at least 44x44 pixels for usability.
Enhanced Visual Depth – Introduced subtle neumorphic UI elements, making interactions more hierarchy and engaging.
Impact
The redesigned mobile homepage provided a more intuitive and accessible experience, aligning with the desktop version while catering to mobile user behaviors. These improvements increased readability, usability, and overall engagement with Voyage Credit Union’s digital platform.
